Commemoration of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn’s (Rama V) Royal Visit to Koh Phangan The 16th Ceremony, Year 2025 137th Anniversary Sunday, 31 August 2025 At the Monument of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) Ban Thong Nang, Ban Tai Subdistrict, Koh Phangan District, Surat Thani Province Organized by Ban Tai Subdistrict Municipality Historical Note In August 1888, His Majesty King Chulalongkorn the Great (Rama V) graciously visited Koh Phangan during his southern voyage. At Ban Thong Nang, His Majesty inscribed the royal emblem “Chor Por Ror (จปร.)” on a cliffside rock—an enduring symbol of his presence. This royal visit, remembered as part of his humble “Phra Phutthachao Luang Prachathipatai” journey, reflects his closeness to the people. Today, the annual ceremony honors both the historic visit and His Majesty’s lasting legacy.

On August 31, 2024, the staff of Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort & Spa had the honor of laying a wreath of pink roses to commemorate the profound benevolence of His Majesty King Rama V towards the people of Koh Phangan. His Majesty visited the Thar Sadet Waterfall a total of 14 times. His Majesty will remain forever in our hearts. On August 31, 2023, the commemorative day of King Rama V’s visit to Koh Phangan, a tradition that has been held continuously for the 14th and the 135th year to commemorate His Majesty’s benevolence, at the King Rama V Monument, Ban Thong Nang, Moo 5, Ban Tai Subdistrict, Koh Phangan District, Surat Thani Province.

Ban Thong Nai Pan School Annual Festival 2024 Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort & Spa has participated in the annual festival by setting up a food stall at Ban Thong Nai Pan School, selling chicken satay skewers and donuts. The resort generously donated the entire income from the food sales, totaling 4,500 THB and including an additional contribution of 10,000 THB, making a total donation of 14,500 THB to the school. This donation will support scholarships and teacher wages at the school. On behalf of Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort & Spa, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all executives who recognize the importance of this event and actively support the local community every year.

Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort & Spa participated in a community event, offering Pad Thai and doughnuts at Pen’s Bungalow on Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach on June 6, 2024.

On behalf of Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort & Spa, we have donated funds to hire teachers and provide scholarships to students at Ban Thong Nai Pan School (Wat Anamai School) which is a community school on Koh Phangan, totaling 14,800 Baht. In addition, we also participate in food selling to bring and donate income to the temple and health center on Koh Phangan.

On April 27th, 2024, Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort & Spa joined Community Relations Sports Activity, under the administration of the Mayor of Ban Tai Sub District, performed a Thai classical dance during the opening ceremony, and provided 20 packs of drinking water to support the participants of this activity.

Exhilarating sports activities include sack race, walking with coconut shells, Thai dance, etc. This is organized by Ban Tai Subdistrict Municipality to offer food, Pad Thai, and drinking water. Also, there are fun-filled sports competitions for everyone to enjoy.

Celebration by providing lunch and gifts to students and children in the local community at Thong Nai Pan School and the Koh Phangan District Office. The management team recognizes the importance of supporting community events and has contributed over 16,000 THB to this occasion. The contributions included: Providing lunch, including chicken nuggets and donuts, for 200 sets. Supplying educational materials, such as notebooks and pencils, for 300 sets. Supporting the Welfare Committee(Kwangthong Team) and Santhiya Resort & Spa staff in organizing educational activities for children in the community

On the occasion of Children’s Day 2024, Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort & Spa, in collaboration with Khun Komsan and Khun Thanya Chantaravisoot, extended a heartwarming gesture by donating study materials, snacks, piggy banks, and toys to the children of Thong Nai Pan School and District Chief Officer of Koh Phangan, Surat Thani. In addition, we organized engaging and amusing games to foster harmony and joy, accompanied by the provision of food for the children at Thong Nai Pan School.

This activity was organized at Ban Thong Nai Pan School to be generous by distributing things to children and providing food for children and teachers. Also, fulfill happiness with recreational activities such as musical chairs, and balloon stomp games which ignite the sporting spirit within children
